Union minister for parliamentary affairs and water resources Pawan Kumar Bansal has said that without people's cooperation, efforts for water management and efficient use of water could not succeed. He was addressing the inaugural session of a two day national conference on water in Bhopal today. The theme of conference is efficient water management: challenges and solution. He said that water is taken for granted and we must have to change people's mind set in this regard. He said that country would face more problems in future as the gap between demand and supply of water would be increased. Mr. Bansal suggested that government should promote water neutral industries, drip irrigation and roof water harvesting and water users associations should be formed in all the areas. These associations should decide about judicious use of water in their areas. Mr. Bansal said that private sector will have to play a greater role in water conservation. NGO's and media could educate people in this regard.<br/>
