Water levels in 91 major reservoirs dip to 51% of total capacity

Water levels in 91 major reservoirs in the country have dip to 51 per cent of their total capacity. Water Resources Ministry said today, the water storage available in 91 major reservoirs of the country for the week ending on 25th January was 80.597 billion cubic metre, which is 51 per cent of total storage capacity of these reservoirs. <br/><br/>The total storage capacity of these 91 reservoirs is 157.799 BCM which is about 62 per cent of the total storage capacity of 253.388 BCM which is estimated to have been created in the country. Out of 91 reservoirs, 37 have hydro-power benefit with installed capacity of more than 60 MW.
