Water from Yamuna, Som river enters dozens of villages in Haryana's Yamunanagar dist

In Haryana, the water from river Yamuna and Som has entered dozens of villages of Yamunanagar district due to heavy rain in the hills. The heaviest rainfall of the season is recorded in the yamunanagar district on Tuesday night and today. In Yamunangar, Jagadhari, Tajewala, Radour, Bilaspur, Sadoura and Mustaffabad a total of 500 mm rainfall has been recorded. The maximum 146 mm rainfall is recorded in Tajewala area. The flood like situation is being witnessed in some areas of the district. As per information available six lakh 60 thousand cusecs of water is released today in the evening from Hathnikund Barrage. In the morning the water level at Hathnikund Barrage was more than five lakh cusecs.In the Som and Pathrala rivulet, water level was 15000 cusecs in the morning , which has risen to 66000 cusecs in the evening. The rising water level has affected around 50 villages of Radour, Jagadhari and Chachroli. Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sangwan said that the villagers have been alerted and administration is ready to tackle any situation. The water released in Yamuna river in the evening will reach Delhi tomorrow.
