As water crisis continue unabated in the national capital, Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit and her Haryana counterpart, Bhupinder Singh Hooda will hold a meeting Monday evening to discuss the issue. Areas across the city have been grappling with acute shortage of water for more than a week now as production of water at treatment plants has come down sharply due to shortage of raw water.According to the Delhi Jal Board, the water level at the Wazirabad pond has come down sharply due to cut in supply by Haryana. Water treatment plants at Haiderpur, Wazirabad and Chandrawal rely on raw water supply from Wazirabad pond. The current average demand of portable water in the city is around 1,100 million gallons per day, and the Jal Board is supplying around 750 million gallons.
