A three fold hike has been recommended for the Working journalists and other newspaper employees in their basic pay. The Wage Boards for Working Journalist and Non-Journalists and other newspaper employees submitted their recommendations to the Government on Friday. They also recommended 65 years as the retirement age. Chairman of the Boards Justice G R Majithia told reporters, the recommendations have been proposed to be implemented from January 8, 2008. After presenting the recommendations to Labour and Employment Secretary Prabhat Chaturvedi, Majithia said establishment of a permanent tribunal to redress grievances between employers and employees, has also been proposed.The recommendations will be examined by the Ministry before they are tabled before the Union Cabinet for approval.
