In West Bengal a green energy park on 100 acres of land will be set up at Andal in Burdwan district to produce solar energy. The State Information Technology minister Mr. Debesh Das disclosed this at a workshop on climate change and Renewable energy at Industrial Trade Fair in Kolkata today. <br/>Mr. Das informed that a solar power generating center will be set up in joint venture with a Taiwan based company there. <br/>AIR correspondent reports that the West Bengal government fixed a target of producing 115MW solar power by the year 2013. The government will spend fifteen hundred crore rupees for this purpose. Beside, the government has also planned to set up small solar plant at different areas to supply power in rural belts through decentralised distribution grid. <br/>
