W Bengal govt announces subsidy on diesel, kerosene prices

West Bengal government has announced subsidy on diesel and kerosene prices to give relief to common people. Replying to the appropriation bill in the state assembly on Monday, the Finance Minister Dr. Asim Dasgupta said that subsidy of one rupee per litre in diesel and 45 paise per liter on kerosene will be given to reduce burden on common man. Mr. Dasgupta announced that the subsidy will come into effect from 1st of next month. He informed the House the state government will bear 160 crore rupee expenditure from the state exchequer for this purpose.
