VVPAT Row: Congress demands EC for ballot paper system

Congress has demanded that Election Commission should go for the ballot paper system till the all Electronic voting machines EVMs are not attached to voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) system. <br/><br/>Addressing reporters in New Delhi today, party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, Election Commission should stop using of EVM till the issue of tampering of voting machines are cleared. <br/><br/>He said, Election Commission had demanded three thousand crore rupees from the government to procure VVPAT machines for all EVMs. Mr Singhvi said that in 2010 senior leader of BJP Lal Krishna Advani had given written and oral complaints against EVMs. <br/>
