VP Mohammad Hamid Ansari going to Morocco and Tunisia on 2-nation visit

Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari will leave for North Africa tomorrow on a two-nation visit to Morocco and Tunisia. During the 5-day visit, Mr Ansari will hold deliberations with top leaders of both the countries, with an aim to give a filip to the bilateral relations and explore new avenues of co-operation.<br/><br/>In Moroccan capital Rabat, the Vice President will meet King Mohammed VI and Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane, while in Tunis, he will hold discussions with President Beji Caid Essebsi and Prime Minister Habib Essid. Issues of terrorism, expansion of United Nations Security Council, investment, ways to strengthen outreach to Africa and regional matters are likely to figure during the talks. A number of MoUs in various fields including education and IT, capacity building and cultural exchange are also expected to be signed.<br/><br/>Announcing the visit in New Delhi on Thursday, Secretary (Economic Relations) Amar Sinha had said, the tour will look to build upon the diplomatic gains from the India-Africa summit which was held in October last year in Delhi. He said, the visit is the first of the series of tours to Africa which Indian leaders will undertake in the coming days.
