Vice President Md Hamid Ansari has returned home after concluding his two nations visit to Hungary and Algeria. Briefing mediapersons on-board in his return flight from Algiers last night, the Vice President termed his visit to the two nations as fruitful and satisfactory. He said, the purpose of the visit was to further strengthen ties with these countries with India.<br/><br/>Mr Ansari said, the warmth in the relationship between India and Algeria was clearly visible in the reception to him and the delegation level talks. He said, both countries have reiterated their resolve to fight against the menace of terrorism which has become a serious threat to global peace and security. During his separate meetings with the top Algerian leaders including Algeria's President, Prime Minister and president of the National People's Assembly, Vice President Hamid Ansari raised the issue prominently. <br/><br/>Mr Ansari said, the leaders echoed the emotion that development is not possible without ensuring peace and security. Mr. Ansari said, Algeria has unequivocally conveyed during his visit that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. He said, the two countries discussed wide ranging issues to promote cooperation in several sectors including Hydro-carbon , Phosphates, automobile parts, agricultural and industrial machinery, pharmaceuticals, space and others.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, talking to AIR correspondent, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh L Mandavia said, the Union government is exploring the opportunities to initiate a joint venture agreement with the African country for a fertilizer plant. The Minister, who accompanied the Vice President on his tour, said that he held a detailed discussion yesterday on this matter with the Algerian Minister for Industry and Mining. He said, India which has upto 96 per cent phosphate dependency, is seeking a 49 per cent share in an Algerian block that that has a capacity of six billion tonnes. <br/> <br/>Earlier during the Vice President's visit to Hungary, two agreements were signed between India and the European nation. The agreements include one MoU for cooperation in water management and another for promotion of better cultural and trade ties and cooperation in science & Technology and defence sector.
