Voting underway for by-polls to seven Assembly Constituencies in six states

<span style="color: #222222;">Polling is underway for the bye-election to seven Assembly constituencies spread over six states. The polling started at 7 in the morning and will end at 6 pm. The constituencies are Andheri East in Maharashtra, Mokama and Gopalganj in Bihar, Adampur in Haryana, Munugode in Telangana, Gola Gokarnnath in Uttar Pradesh and Dhamnagar in Odisha. The counting will be held on Sunday.<br />''<br />''In Maharashtra, 9.72 percent voting was recorded till 11 AM at Andheri East assembly seat. Rutuja Latke, the wife of late Shiv Sena MLA Ramesh Latke, belonging to the Udhhav Thackeray-faction of Shiv Sena is contesting on the seat. BJP has withdrawn from the race.<br />''<br />''At the two assembly seats of Mokama and Gopalganj in Bihar peaceful polling is underway. Six candidates are in the fray for Mokama seat while nine are contesting on Gopalganj seat. Mokama seat fell vacant after the disqualification of RJD MLA Anant Singh who was convicted in an Arms Act case. Byelection in Gopalganj was necessitated due to the death of sitting BJP MLA Subash Singh.<br />''<br />''At Munugode Assembly constituency in Telangana, 11.02 polling was recorded during the initial two hours. AIR correspondent reports that barring a few incidents of a technical snag, voting was smooth. It was brisk in rural areas while in urban areas, it was slow.       </span><br />
