In Bihar, amidst tight security arrangements, polling is underway for the fourth phase of Panchayat elections at 905 Gram Panchayats in 62 blocks of the state. The polling began at 7 am and will continue up to 5 this afternoon. In Naxal-affected areas, polling will be till 3 pm. AIR Patna correspondent reports that over 53 lakh electorates will decide the fortune of 93 thousand 560 candidates. The State Election Commission has directed the Government to immediately arrest miscreants and file chargesheet against them in fast track court within two weeks. The Deputy Inspector General of Police has been instructed to camp in Ultra-affected districts to ensure free and fair polls. The state authority has sealed the India – Nepal border along the state to stop infiltration.
