In Bihar, amidst tight security arrangements polling is continuing peacefully for the bye-elections to Daraunda Assembly seat. The by-election was necessitated following the death of Janata Dal United MLA Jagmato Devi. AIR Patna correspondent reports that a large number of voters have come out from their houses to exercise their right of franchise. Polling will continue up to 5 p.m. Over 2 lakh 26 thousand electorate will decide the political fortune of nine candidates including Mrs. Kavita Singh of Janta Dal (United) and Permeshwar Singh of RJD. Five candidates are contesting the polls independently. Counting of votes will take place on the 17th of this month.
