Voting has ended in parliamentary elections in Sri Lanka, the first since government forces defeated Tamil Tiger rebels last year.Initial reports indicated moderate to brisk polling in many parts of the country apart from the Tamil-dominated northern Jaffna region.President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who was re-elected in January, hopes the election will consolidate his political dominance of the country.
