In West Bengal, voting for by elections in Bankura and Daspur assembly seats has begun this morning amidst tight security. The State Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Sunil Gupta told AIR that all arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair voting. Our Kolkata correspondent reports that besides State police 12 company of Central Para-military force have been engaged. All together ten candidates are in fray. Over 4,65,000 voters are eligible to cast their franchise. Both the seats were fallen vacant following death of Trinamool Congress Legislators Kashinath Mishra and Ajit Bhuiyan. The counting of votes will be taken up on next Friday.
