Votes for the Prez poll to be cast today UPA candidate Pranab and NDA nominee Sangma

The Election Commission has rejected a complaint that had objected to the lunch and dinner hosted in favour of UPA Presidential poll nominee Pranab Mukherjee including the one hosted by Congress in New Delhi today.
The Commission said the complaint, filed by a group of
lawyers supporting opposition nominee P A Sangma yesterday evening, was not admissible under the Representation of People Act as it did not apply to the Presidential poll.
Sources in the Commission said the complaint had held that it was a case of wooing MLAs and MPs through lunches
and dinners in favour of the ruling party nominee, which was “violation” of the Representation of People Act.
The complaint also cited the UPA lunch hosted by Congress in New Delhi today as well as lunches and dinners hosted by Congress leaders in various states during Mukherjee's visits there. Mukherjee was not present in today's UPA lunch.
