The work of registration of voters for elections of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will begin with effect from June 1st. <br/><br/>A spokesman for Gurdwara Election Commission today said at Chandigarh that by June 1, blank declaration Form 1, to be filed by Keshadhari Sikhs, would be available with the Patwaris in rural areas and the Secretaries of the Local Authorities or persons (s) appointed by the Deputy Commissioners for the urban areas and at the notified Sikh Gurdwaras.<br/><br/>Prospective voters in Punjab ,Haryana,Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh could obtain these forms 'free' of cost for getting themselves registered as voters.<br/><br/>For becoming a voter, he said, a person should be more than 21 years of age and be a Keshadhari Sikh as specified in section 49 of the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925.
