In Mizoram, voluntary blood donation has become a social movement. In this movement, youths are playing a key role. The number of enthusiastic youths towards voluntary blood donation is getting increased year after year.<br />'' <br />'' Also, number of youths donating blood multiple times a year for needy patients is also getting increased. AIR Aizawl correspondent reports, So far, 85 percent of state demands of blood units have been met through voluntary donations in 2018- 19. The Church and NGOs along with government blood transfusion cells are playing a big role in motivating youths towards blood donations.<br />'' <br />'' Official records revealed, 40 years old Mr. Lalremruata donated blood highest number of times. He has donated blood more than 70 times since his 18 years of age. Talking to AIR News he said that, he eats raw vegetables and onions give him stamina. He does not consume tobacco or alcohol. He never sleeps late. He expressed hope that he would donate as much blood as possible during his lifetime.<br />'' <br />'' President of Association for Voluntary Blood Donation (AVBD) C. Lalnunnema said they need regular blood donors to come forward to meet the need of sick patients of the state. Also, he said they hope 100 % of demands to be filled by voluntary donation in coming days.&nbsp;<br />
