Volcano again erupts on Island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines

<span style="color: #222222;">In the Caribbean islands of St Vincent and the Grenadines, a new explosion was reported today at the La Soufrière volcano which first erupted on Friday blanketing the island in a layer of fine volcanic rock ash.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">According to reports, the island is witnessing power outages and cutoff in water supplies.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The volcanic eruption has forced around 16,000 people to evacuate their homes.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Residents in Barbados, nearly 200 kilometers to the east, have also been urged to stay indoors.<br />''<br />'' Around 3,000 people spent the last night in shelters.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">After decades of inactivity, the volcano spewed dark clouds of ash for some 10 kilometers into the air prompting an evacuation of residents living nearby.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The country's National Emergency Management Organization reported lightning, thunder, and rumblings as a majority of the country remained out of power and covered in ash.  <br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The ash has forced the cancellation of several flights, and poor visibility limited evacuations in some areas.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Officials warned that St Lucia to the north and Grenada to the south could get light ashfall, though most of it was expected to head northeast into the Atlantic Ocean.</span><br />
