The National Federation of the Blind has demanded from the government to take adequate steps to fill up all backlog vacancies reserved for persons with disabilities. Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, the General Secretary of Federation, Mr S.K Rungta said that blind persons were not only deprived of benefit of reservation but in fact excluded from participating in the selection process. He said that the Federation have also decided to launch a nationwide agitation from 19th of this month pressing for the special recruitment drive by all departments in a time bound manner that have arisen since 1996.
