In Himachal Pradesh, the State Congress President Virbhadra Singh will be the next Chief Minister of the State.

A marathon meeting of Congress Legislative Party was held in Shimla till late night in the presence of central observers AICC General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi, Delhi Chief minister Sheila Dixit and the State Incharge for Party affairs, Virendra Singh.

The meeting adopted a one line resolution to elect Virbhara Singh as the leader of the Congress Legislative Party.

Janadharan Dwivedi announced at the end of the meeting that the Congress President Sonia Gandhi has given her clearance to the name of Virbhadra Singh after the resolution adopted by the meeting was sent to her.
