Violence in Pakistan has claimed at least 15 lives as the country marks its independence day. Eleven people were killed and 23 wounded when a bomb hit a two storey hotel building at Jaffarabad in the south-western province of Balochistan. The building was razed to the ground following the explosion. Elsewhere in the province, gunmen on motor cycles shot dead a local journalist. In a separate incident today, at least three para-military soldiers were killed when unknown militants fired a rocket into their camp. The ambush came as the soldiers were preparing for an independence day assembly. Dozens more were also wounded.
