Vijayakanth suspended for 10 days from TN Assembly

In Tamil Nadu Assembly, the opposition leader Mr.Vijayakant was today suspended for ten days by the Privileges Committee. The decision was announced by the Speaker D.Jayakumar today. He said that the other members of the party were pardoned this time but warned that such behavior if repeated would not be pardoned anymore.The Finance Minister O.Panneerselvam moved the resolution on breach of privilege for what was termed as the unacceptable behavior of Mr.Vijayakant.The deputy leader of the opposition, Mr.Panruti Ramachandran demanded that a discussion should follow the resolution. But since opportunity was denied then, members of DMDK walked out protesting the decision of the speaker followed by DMK,CPI and CPM.Later addressing the media, DMK leader .M.K.Stalin, CPM -leader Soundararajan and CPI leader Gunasekaran said that this was a dictatorial move and said that the resolution was passed in an urgent manner without an opportunity for discussion.The present session would be conducted till the 4th of this month and another session is set to follow later.
