In Nepal, Vijaya Dashami, the festival symbolising the victory of the good over the evil is celebrated across the country on Sunday on the tenth day of the Bara Dasain with traditional fervour and gaiety.The day marks the conclusion of the nine-day long worship of Shri Durga Bhawani at Dashainghars with sprinkling of holy water and younger members of the family receiving Tika and blessings from their parents and elders.President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, care-taker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, leaders of different political parties and former king Gyanendra Shah have greeted the people on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, wishing happiness, peace and prosperity.AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports that Vijaya Dashmi, the most widely celebrated festival is traditionally used as an occasion for fostering family values, promoting social goodwill and mutual cooperation among the people of all castes and communities. Indian community in Nepal have also joined the local people in celebrating Vijaya Dashami, the biggest festival in the country.
