Vijay Mallya can apply for Emergency Certificate if he wants to come back home: MEA

External Affairs Ministry has said that fugitive Vijay Mallya can apply for Emergency Certificate to the nearest Indian Embassy or High Commission if he wants to come back home. <br/><br/>Mallya, who is facing probe in multi-crore bank loan default case, is currently living in UK. In response to a media query, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said any Indian who is outside the country and does not have a valid travel document for any reason has to apply for the Certificate. It is specifically meant to provide a travel document to an Indian citizen to return. <br/><br/>The spokesperson said the facility is available to Mallya if he wishes to avail of it. Mallya's counsel had pleaded in a court that his client is willing to come back but is unable to do so as his passport has been revoked. <br/><br/>
