Minister for Sports Vijay Goel today inaugurated a two day meet on Indo-Dutch Sports Co- operation in Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium, Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said, the country is aiming for the coming Tokyo Olympics and providing small stadia for major sports in every state is the priority of the government. He also said, India and the Netherlands can create world class sports infrastructure. Mr. Goel also dedicated the Colour-field stadium developed by the Dutch Sports infrastructure on the occasion. Colour-field is a state of the art, smart and sustainable multi utility concept. It involves incorporation of sustainable technologies in infrastructure like utilisation of solar energy, water conservation and resource recycling. India and the Netherlands had entered into an MoU in 2015 in sports. The MoU involved establishing smart sustainable stadia, training and sharing of best practices in sports in India. Sports Secretary Injeti Srinivas who was also present said, small stadia are required to be rolled out even in villages to boost people's participation. Ambassador for Netherlands in India, Alphonsus Stoelinga and Special Envoy for Internationals Corporation, Hans Docter, represented the Netherlands in the sports meet along with other delegates. The two- day meet will deliberate on best practices and modern technologies in the sports.
