Vijay Diwas is being commemorated today to mark the Indian victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war.

It is celebrated to remember the brave soldiers of the Indian armed forces who laid down their lives fighting for the nation in the war.

The day is also observed in Bangladesh as Bijoy Dibosh.
