Vigil tightened in N-E over I-Day strike

Keeping in view the general strike called by several organisations in the North-East on the Independence Day, the police in Aizawl have tightened the security. AIR correspondent reports that patrolling has been intensified and high security would be maintained around the venue of the main function on Sunday. The Police have launched a drive to detain suspected persons. A number of banned organisations have given a call for general strike on the Independence Day in the entire region. Vigil along the Indo-Myanmar border has been tightened.
