Video conferencing rules have been implemented in twenty-one High Courts to help deal with pendency of cases, Law Minister tells Lok Sabha

<span style="color: #222222;">Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju has said the video conferencing rules have been implemented in twenty-one High Courts. The Minister informed these are on trial mode so that uniform video conferencing across all courts of the country can be provided.<br />''<br />''Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, Mr Rijiju said, in the future video conferencing will also help deal with pendency of cases as it has helped litigants and lawyers.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, the eCourts Integrated Mission Mode Project is one of the National e-Governance projects being implemented in the district and subordinate courts of the country. Mr. Rijiju said, the eCommittee of Supreme Court of India, headed by a Supreme Court judge is responsible for the policy planning, strategic direction, and guidance for the implementation of eCourts project.<br />''<br />''The Law and Justice Minister said, a total of 18,735 courts have been computerized to date. He said, the Wide Area Network Project under eCourts project is aimed at connecting all-district and subordinate court complexes, spread across the country using various technologies like Optical Fiber Cable and Radio Frequency.<br />''<br />''The Minister also said, fifteen virtual courts in eleven States and UTs have been operationalized to handle traffic challan cases. More than 1.07 crore cases have been handled by 15 virtual courts and online fine of 201 crore has been realized till 3d of December this year.<br />''<br />''Mr. Rijiju said the Delhi High Court has set up 34 digital courts dealing with Negotiable Instruments Act cases. The Minister also informed the house that National Judicial Data Grid is a database of orders, judgments, and case details of 18,735 computerized District and Subordinate Courts created as an online platform under the eCourts project.</span><br />
