President Pranab Mukherjee has called upon military officers to remain well informed with the latest in military technology, advancements and scientific developments for their appropriate application in the armed forces.<br/><br/>Delivering the convocation address to the students and faculty of the 71st staff course held at Defence Services Staff College at Wellington in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu today, the President urged officers to discharge their responsibilities with utmost commitment, distinction, steadfastness and patriotic fervour. <br/><br/>He said that the ultimate victory in war will be achieved jointness among the three services. The foremost example of excellent synergy and jointmenship exhibited in the military history, as in the case of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. <br/><br/>Mr Mukherjee noted that no strategic military victory has ever been so precedented by any armed forces in the world, such as the liberation of Bangladesh.I congratulate each one of you for having successfully graduated from the Defence Service Staff college.<br/><br/>458 officers including 34 officers from 25 friendly foreign countries graduated from the college on the occasion. The President also presented medals to the award winners and handed over parchments to the foreign officers.<br/>The Defence Services Staff College, provides command and staff training to the officers of the Army, Navy and Air Force, civil services and friendly foreign countries.
