Prime Minister of Victorian state of Australia, John Brumby today vowed not to tolerate any racial attacks against Indians. He said, there is a small and ignorant minority of people who engage in such repugnant actions.<br/><br/> The state of Victoria has witnessed most of these assaults. Mr Brumby said, his state is built on migration and cultures from around the world. <br/><br/>Acknowledging that Indians have fallen victim to violent crimes, he said, any crime motivated by racism is outrageous and won't be tolerated. Insisting that Victoria, and indeed Australia, is not a racist society, Mr Brumby said, his government has repeatedly condemned any racist behaviour, violent or verbal. Over 100 incidents of attacks on Indians, including racial, have come to light since May last year in Australia.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, at least one person has been arrested in connection with the mysterious death of an Indian toddler in Australia. The Newspaper, The Age' reported that one person has been arrested but did not identify the suspect. Three-year-old Gurshan Singh Channa's body was found by a council worker on Thursday night, six hours after he disappeared from his home in Melbourne. <br/><br/>Earlier, 'Herald Sun' said that charges had already been laid, without mentioning who the accused was. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, the boy's parents, Harpreet Kaur Channa and Harjit Singh Channa, had concluded a meeting with detectives. The family is waiting for police to release the boy's body before deciding when to head back to India.
