Hundreds of victims of Naxal violence and their family members on Monday staged a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi denouncing the extremists and demanding rehabilitation and security.The protesters, including women, have come to the national capital from the Naxal-hit states of Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar. Colonel (retd) Jaybans Singh, coordinator for the victims, said the people have come from Naxal-affected states with demands like uniform compensation for victims of Maoist violence, job opportunities for them and security from Naxalites.Most of the protesters have direct or indirectly faced Naxal violence and exploitation while some of them lost their close relatives due to Maoist atrocities.The group of people also held a candle light vigil at Jantar Mantar on Sunday to press for their demands.
