The National Democratic Alliance, NDA partners will meet tomorrow to discuss its Vice Presidential poll candidate. BJP general secretary Ananth Kumar said that party has decided to contest the Vice-Presidential election. Talking to reporters after the BJP Core Group meeting in New Delhi yesterday he said that announcement of NDA’s candidate will be made after due deliberations and consulting allies on the issue.
The ruling UPA on Saturday nominated Vice President Mohd. Hamid Ansari for the second term. Union Agriculture Minister and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan and BSP supremo Mayawati have also already announced their support to Hamid Ansari's candidature.
The last day for filing of nominations for the Vice Presidentship is the 20th of this month, a day after the Presidential poll. Voting is to be held on the 7th of next month.
