Vice President M Hamid Ansari has emphasised the need to adopt global standards and norms of citizen behaviour without sacrificing national approach of Multiculturalism. Addressing the 12th Convocation of University of Hyderabad in Hyderabad today, the Vice President has exuded the fresh graduates of the central university to have scientific spirit to attain all round development while keeping the social harmony cohesive. <br/><br/>Stating that the model of a blend of national and translational identity would have wide relevance for the 21st century citizen, Dr Ansari has asked the graduates to have emotions driven by ideals.<br/><br/>Presenting the University report on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr Seyed E. Hasnain has said the University has started new courses during the ongoing academic year in three new areas included Optometry and Vision Sciences, Nursing Sciences and Health Psychology which are nor offered anywhere in the country.<br/><br/>Earlier, Dr Ansari conferred honorary doctorates to RBI former Governor Dr C Rangarajan, eminent Urdu poet and lyricist of Umraojan film Prof. Kunwar Akhlaq Mohammad Khan Shaharyar and famous Kuchipudi dance duo Radha RajaReddy. Besides, 82 doctorates, 121 M Techs, 158 M Phils have been conferred and 942 students have been given graduation. 78 endowment medals have also been presented on the occasion.<br/><br/>Among others Governor E S L Narasimhan, Information and Public Relations Minister J Geetha reddy took part in the convocation.<br/><br/>Earlier, Chief Minister K Rosaiah accorded warm welcome to the Vice President who arrived by Indian Air Force special flight at Begumpet. Vice President has left for Delhi in the afternoon.
