Vice Prez Ansari leaves for Cambodian city of SIEM REAP

Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari leaves this morning for the Cambodian city of SIEM REAP where he will visit the world famous Angkorvat temple. India was the first country to offer assistance in the restoration work of Angkorvat. Under a bilateral agreement the restoration work was undertaken from 1986 to 1993.<br/><br/>India is also doing the restoration work at the Ta Trohm temple, which the Vice President will visit. He will also visit the Mekong Ganga Textile Museum today. In 2002, the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had announced setting-up of this museum. It showcauses the textile traditions of India, Combodia and other countries of Mekong region.<br/><br/>Later, this afternoon the Indian delegation, led by the Vice President, will leave for VIENTIANE the capital of Lao PDR.
