Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will today launch the Sports Ministry's much-awaited National Sports Talent Search Portal at a function in Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. <br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has mentioned the launch of the portal in his Mann Ki Baat on All India Radio yesterday, appealing youth to come forward in sports. Mr Modi said, the portal is being launched to search for sporting talents and to groom them.<br/> <br/>Talking about the portal, Sports Minister Vijay Goel said, there have always been issues regarding fair selection of talented sports persons in the state, national and international level teams in various sporting disciplines in the country. He said any child or his teacher or parent can upload the sporting achievements of the child who is eight years and above. <br/><br/>Mr Goel said the achievements will be considered by the Sports Ministry and Sports Authority of India- SAI while shortlisting the talented kids, who will then be called for trials at the nearest SAI Centre for final selection. <br/><br/>National Sports Talent Search Portal will enable any person from across country to upload his information and as per that the Ministry will tap their talent and train them further in their respective disciplines. <br/><br/>Around 1000 kids will be selected every year and each will receive scholarships of 5 lakh rupees per annum for eight years. Talent Search portal will be available in English and other regional languages so that any boy or girl can upload his or her achievements from any part of the country. <br/><br/>The portal will provide a three step simple process for registration, profile creation and upload of achievements. It will also be available as App which can be downloaded on smart phones. <br/><br/>
