Vice President Venkaiah Naidu today emphasised the importance of being proficient in one's mother tongue and said children should also learn Hindi. <br/><br/>Addressing a function of a private University at Kattankolathur in Kancheepuram District of Tamilnadu, Mr Naidu said, nobody should force any language on anybody. <br/><br/>However, sharing his personal experience, the vice President said, that though one could do well in their respective states by being proficient in their mother tongue, but for a national level role, Hindi should be learnt.
