Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today laid the foundation stone to develop the stretch on River Krishna from Muktyal to Vijayawada as part of the 4th National Waterway. The project will be completed in three phases while total cost on the project is estimated at 7015 crore rupees. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President said, with this, the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati will get connected through air, waterways and by roads.<br/>'<br/>Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari assured that all the projects sanctioned to Andhra Pradesh state will be completed on time. Stating that the road development is buoyant in the country, Mr Gadkar said currently 28 kilo meters of national highways are being added every day in the country. The minister also said the Centre sanctioned projects worth over 1 lakh 27 thousand crore rupeesto the state under Sagarmala project. Seven stretches of national highways developed at a cost of about 1600 crore rupees in the state have been dedicated to the nation on the occasion.
