Vice-President M.Venkaiah Naidu today unveiled a 1.80 metre tall bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 148 Birth Anniversary. The statue has been installed in the Parking Area of Rajghat Samadhi Complex. <br/><br/>It is mounted on a two feet high pedestal clad with granite. The famous message of Mahatma Gandhi "Be the Change You Wish to See" is inscribed on the front side. <br/><br/>Installation of the Statue is a part of a large number of improvement works at Rajghat undertaken during the last three years. Mr Naidu also inaugurated an Interpretation Centre in the Parking Area of the complex. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Mr Naidu said Mahatma Gandhi's thoughts are immortal and his wish for Ram Rajya should be properly understood and governments and people must work in that direction. He further said that Ram Rajya means an ideal rule, where there is no fear, no hunger, no corruption, no exploitation and no discrimination. <br/><br/>During the last three years, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Rajghat Samadhi Samiti have done several works at Rajghat to enhance visitor experience.
