The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has congratulated DRDO scientists and technical personnel for the successful test launch of Agni – 5. In his message Dr Singh said the nation stands together in honouring our scientific community who have done our country proud. The Prime minister telephoned DRDO Director Dr Saraswat and congratulated him and the DRDO team.

The Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari also congratulated the scientists. Mr Ansari in a message said the scientists have done the nation proud with this splendid achievement. He said, this demonstrates scientific and technological capability of our country.

Defence Minister A K Antony described the maiden test fire of ICBM Agni-5 as an immaculate success and a major milestone. He told the DRDO Chief on phone that the nation stands tall today. In his conversation with Dr. Saraswat and Dr. Chander, Mr. Antony told them that the nation is proud of its defence scientists.
