Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar inaugurated the new Management Development Centre of IIM(B) in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The new campus in Jigani near Bengaluru is constructed at a cost of 55 crore rupees. <br />''<br />''Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President said that India is today the fifth biggest Economy surpassing our erstwhile colonial ruler the UK. <br />''<br />''He said that by the turn of this decade, India will be the third biggest economy. He called upon the younger generation to take pride in our achievements. He asked them to be aware of parasites, sleeper cells and vested interests with sinister designs, set on tarnishing the image of the country, its leaders and its institutions.<br />''<br />'' He added that such elements question our demographic credentials, the Supreme Court, our infrastructure growth, our Vaccine and our Vande Bharat train. Under the pretext of freedom of expression, they tarnish the image and create false narratives and such elements need to be exposed in society, he added. <br />''<br />''Those who make false allegations in the House have immunity and cannot be taken to the Court, stated the Vice President. Such statements made in the House need to be authenticated with facts or else their membership must be withdrawn, he added.<br />''<br />'' He sought public support in making the legislature more accountable and productive especially during the Parliamentary session while transacting the business of the House. He informed that a plan is being formulated to invite students from institutions of higher learning to come and witness the Rajya Sabha proceedings for two-three days so that they can play a critical role while forming a public opinion.
