Vice President Hamid Ansari will be at the Mission Control Centre at Shriharikota to witness the launch.

The stage is all set for the launch of PSLV C- 14 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota Wednesday afternoon. ISRO sources told our Chennai correspondent that the countdown operations are progressing smoothly and the launch is scheduled for 11.53 a.m. The core alone PSLV C-14 will put into a polar sun synchronous orbit the 960 kg Oceansat 2. Six nano satellites are also being carried as auxiliary payloads to orbit.AIR correspondent covering the launch reports Oceansat 2 will help in the study of the oceans as well as the interaction of oceans and the atmosphere to facilitate climatic studies. It will identify potential fishing zones, assist in coastal zone studies and help in understanding surface temperatures and winds.Data sent by the three payloads of Oceansat 2, Ocean colour monitor, Ku band Pencil Bean Scatter meter and Radio Occultation sounder for Atmospheric studies will be received at the National Remote Sensing Centre of ISRO.Ridding piggy back on Oceansat 2, are six Nano satellites from Europe which will test advanced satellite and application technologies.
