Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari will be visiting Uganda and Rwanda from 19th to 23rd of this month. Briefing media in New Delhi today, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, in Rwanda, Mr Ansari will meet President Paul Kagame and deliver an address at the University of Rwanda. <br/><br/>He will also pay homage at the Genocide Museum and will interact with the Indian community in Kigali. He will also attend a banquet hosted by the Prime Minister of Rwanda. <br/><br/>India-Rwanda relations are marked by cordiality, convergence of views and cooperation on major international issues and greater people to people contacts. <br/><br/>Briefing on the visit to Uganda, Joint Secretary (East and Southern Africa) Neena Malhotra said, Mr Ansari will meet his counterpart and the Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni. The Vice President will also interact with the Indian community in Kampala. <br/><br/>Bilateral relations between India and Uganda are characterised by historical cultural linkages, extensive economic and trade interests, and a convergence on major bilateral and international issues.
