Vice President Hamid Ansari reaches Yerevan

Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari reached Yerevan, the Armenian capital this evening. <br/><br/>He was received at the Zvartnots International Airport by the Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.<br/>'<br/>Vice President's engagement in Armenia begins tomorrow. In the morning, Mr. Ansari will visit the memorial of the victims of the Armenian Genocide and will lay wreath there, just a day after the 102nd anniversary. <br/><br/>Later, he will hold discussions with the President Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan and the Foreign Minister.<br/>'<br/>Earlier, in his on-board press briefing, Vice President said India has a case at Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) that is why the previous rules are being re worked. <br/><br/>He said, Poland has been India's supporter in NSG even in the old format and now that the rules are being reworked it will continue to do so. <br/><br/>Stating that India has age old cultural ties with Armenia the Vice President said, this visit will enhance the friendliness between the two nations and establish high level talks. <br/><br/>Armenia has been a vocal supporter on international fora on crucial issues. This is his first leg of the journey; Vice President is on two nation tour to Armenia and Poland.<br/>
