Vice President Hamid Ansari today held wide ranging discussions with Hungarian President Janos Ader at Presidential palace at Budapest. Earlier this morning, Mr Ansari met Speaker of National Assembly at Hungary Parliament house. <br/><br/>India and Hungary yesterday signed two agreements including on water management after bilateral discussions between Mr Ansari and Hungarian PM Victor Orban. Another agreement was signed between Indian Council of World Affairs and its Hungarian counterpart to promote cooperation in various fields. <br/><br/>The Vice President emphasized the need to stand up unitedly to deal with the menace of terrorism. Mr Orban extended full cooperation and support to India in its internation aspirations. He also thanked India for its continuous support to Hungary. <br/><br/>Later today, Mr Ansari also addressed the students of historical Corvinus University of Budapest on Indian Democracy: Achievements and Challenges. He said, Indian democracy faces the challenge of securing substantive equality for citizens and ensuring fraternity for the unity and integrity of the nation. Mr Ansari said, in order to deal with this challenge, the government accords it high priority in its socio-economic policies. <br/><br/>He said, Gender Balance is also a big challenge in the path to a more comprehensive democracy. He said, though gender equality has been ensured through legislation in municipalities and village panchayats, the same has not yet been done for Parliament and state assemblies. <br/><br/>Later he proceeded to Algeria in the second and final leg of his two-nation tour.
