Vice President Hamid Ansari embarks on visit to Armenia & Poland today

Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari begins a five day two nation tour to Armenia and Poland from this afternoon. During the visit, Mr. Ansari will hold talks with top leaders of the two countries on a wide range of issues. <br/><br/>The visit of the vice president intends to further strengthen the cordial relation between the two countries, develop cooperation and partnership on shared common interest. Accompanied by a high level delegation, the Vice-President will reach the Armenian capital Yerevan this evening. <br/><br/>Mr. Ansari will hold talks with Armenian President Serzh Darshan, the Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan and their Foreign Minister during his stay. He is also scheduled to deliver a lecture at Armenia State University. India is celebrating 25 years of diplomatic relationship with Armenia this year.<br/>'<br/>On his second leg of the journey Mr Ansari will be visiting Warsaw, Poland. There he will hold discussions with the Polish President, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Senate. <br/><br/>His visit to Poland aims at further deepening the economic co-operation. India looks at Poland as potential trade partner as the bilateral trade between both the nations has increased by 25 percent within a period of one year.

Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari begins a five day two nation tour to Armenia and Poland from this afternoon. During the visit, Mr. Ansari will hold talks with top leaders of the two countries on a wide range of issues. '<br/><br/>The aim of Vice President's visit to Eurasian country Armenia and Eastern European nation Poland is to develop cooperation and partnership in the region and gain their support on international forums like United Nations and Nuclear Suppliers Group. <br/><br/>On his first leg of journey, Mr. Ansari will reach Yerevan where he will hold talks with the Armenian President, the Prime Minister and also the Foreign Minister. Vice President's visit to Armenia comes at a time when India is celebrating its Silver Jubilee of diplomatic relationship with the country. <br/><br/>On the 2nd part of his visit, Vice President will reach Warsaw on Wednesday and will hold discussions with the Polish President, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Senate. His visit to Poland aims at further deepening the economic co-operation. <br/><br/>India looks at Poland as potential trade partner as the bilateral trade between both the nations has increased by 25 percent within a period of only one year.
