Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari left for North Africa today on a two-nation visit to Morocco and Tunisia.<br/><br/>During the 5-day visit, Mr Ansari will hold deliberations with top leaders of both the countries, with an aim to give a filip to the bilateral relations and explore new avenues of co-operation.<br/><br/>The Vice President will reach Moroccan capital, Rabat Monday evening and will later meet King Mohammed 6th and Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane.<br/><br/>He will reach Tunis on Thursday and hold discussions with President Beji Caid Essebsi and Prime Minister Habib Essid.<br/><br/>Issues of terrorism, expansion of United Nations Security Council, investment, ways to strengthen outreach to Africa and regional matters are likely to figure during the talks.<br/><br/>A number of MoUs in various fields including education and IT, capacity building and cultural exchange are also expected to be signed.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent, covering the visit, reports that the tour comes in the backdrop of the recent attacks on African nationals in India, and the India-Africa Forum summit held in October last year in Delhi in which heads of 54 nations across Africa participated to give a new thrust to their partnership with India.
