Vice Ministers from North and South Korea will meet today to discuss the North's participation in the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. The officials will meet on the southern side of the truce village of Panmunjom to discuss the details.<br/><br/>The South Korean delegation is expected to be led by Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-Sung. The North's representatives will be headed by Jon Jong Su, Vice Chairman of the Committee for Peaceful Reunification.<br/><br/>They are to discuss the number of North Korean athletes and supporters who will travel to the South and their method of transport. The possibility of a unified Korean team will be another topic for the talks. The two Koreas agreed at ministerial talks last week that North Korea will send athletes to the Games that begin on February 9th.<br/><br/>The two countries also agreed on Monday that the North will send a 140-member orchestra to perform during the Games. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has welcomed the inter-Korean dialogue. In a news conference in New York yesterday, he said there are some signs of hope in the restart of dialogue between the two Koreas. <br/><br/>Guterres said it is extremely important to take advantage of these signs to make sure that a serious process leading to the peaceful denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula takes place. UN Chief also urged all UN members to implement UN sanctions resolutions to ensure the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
