Vice chancellor's resignation over paper leak rejected

In Uttar Pradesh the Lucknow University Vice Chancellor Professor Manoj Kumar Mishra has resigned in the wake of leakage of question papers of B Ed combined entrance examination. <br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that he has tendered his resignation to the state Governor Mr. B L Joshi who however rejected the resignation and asked him to continue. Mr. Joshi has praised reforms being carried out by the vice-chancellor in the university. In his resignation letter Pro. Mishra has said that he was deeply hurt as inconvenience was caused to lakh of students and their parents due to cancellation of the examination.<br/>The state government had already ordered a high-level inquiry into the leak of the question papers and 19th of next month has been announced as the fresh date for the entrance examination. The University has said that result of the entrance will be announced on July 17 and counselling will start by July 25. The new session will start from the first week of August.<br/>
