Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held separate bilateral meetings with top world and corporate leaders attending the 7th Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. World leaders also met Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel separately.
AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports, more than 8 thousand five hundred delegates including 2 thousand six hundred foreign delegates from 111 countries have attended the opening ceremony of Vibrant Gujarat. About 275 CEOs of Global Multinational companies are participating in this global business conclave. World Bank President Jim Yong Kim has offered full support to Gujarat Government in Cleanliness campaign and smart city project. Israel Foreign Minister Yair Shamir has announced co-operation in food security program with Government of India and Skill development program with Gujarat Government. Investment is started pouring as 11 Memorandum of Understanding were signed in defense production sector while 8 Memorandum of Understanding were signed in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met US Secretary of State, John Kerry at Gandhinagar in Gujarat. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted that the Prime Minister conveyed to Mr Kerry that India is looking forward to US President Barack Obama's visit with enthusiasm. Economic growth and climate issues were also discussed during the meeting. Mr Kerry was accompanied by a high level delegation from the US.
President Obama will be the chief guest at this year's Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
